From Tents to Houses
Dan is a little girl we met on the day that changed everything (earlier blog). She was living in the orphanage because her father had died in the earthquake and her mother was not able to take care of her and her siblings. Even when that orphanage closed, we remained close to Dan and her family. We helped move her and her siblings to another orphanage. Eventually, Dan’s mom felt like she could take care of Dan and one of her sisters. Some of the siblings remained at the orphanage and two are living with their mother. Dan’s mom was trying to get her family back together under one roof….the problem was their ‘house’ didn’t have a roof.
The family was living in a tent while their mom slowly worked on building a house. We want to help sponsor orphanages; however, when there is a chance to keep a family together we want to do everything possible to make that happen.
We are happy to say this family is completely reunited and are living together under the same roof and everyone has their own bed. So thankful for everyone that helped us make this possible. We celebrated with the family with cake on their first night back together. We continue to provide assistance with education for the children.
